Roland Griesmaier received his Ph.D. in mathematics from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in 2008. He has been Juniorprofessor of mathematics at Leipzig University, and professor of mathematics at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg. Since 2018 he is professor of mathematics at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
Griesmaier's research interests lie in the areas of applied analysis, partial differential equations, inverse problems, and numerical analysis. His research focuses on development and analysis of numerical methods for inverse problems for partial differential equations. Major recent themes have been inverse source problems for time-harmonic waves, reconstruction of scattering objects of low volume, and qualitative reconstruction methods for multi-frequency inverse scattering problems.
