Marie Doumic is a french applied mathematician working on Partial Differential Equations applied to biology. She defended her Ph.D in 2005 on a drift-Schrödinger equation applied to laser-plasma interaction, and then moved to the applications to biology when she was hired as a research scientist at Inria in 2007. She got an ERC Starting Grant in 2012, and since 2013, she is the head of the Inria project-team MAMBA (Modelling and Analysis for Mathematical and Biological Applications). From 2016 to 2018 she has been an Olga Taussky Pauli Fellow at the Wolfgang Pauli Institute, University of Vienna, Austria. Her research focuses on direct and inverse problems in population dynamics, combining methods from statistics, probability and PDE, with applications in various fields of molecular biology.
